Practices & Meditations
Float on a Magic Carpet - One of the best ways for people to expand their horizons of consciousness is to find some music that gives you a floaty feeling. Turn off everything that you possibly can and give yourself, say, 15 minutes. Find something that really draws you into it, and simply allow your mind to float along with the music. Let all the cares and worries of your day drain out of you. It might be music for meditation, or you could create your own set of songs that allow your mind to float.
When you use the same music over and over, it becomes like a magic carpet for your ride out into greater consciousness. There’s nothing more useful for connecting with Spirit than allowing yourself to be perfectly comfortable in a free-floating state of consciousness. Float in your mind into the darkness—maybe a starry sky. Become aware of what is out there without analyzing it and certainly without judging it on whether or not what you sense is somehow superior to what someone else senses.
If there is one law that will guide you, it is the principal of self-flowering. You open the petals of consciousness simply by getting your thoughts and feelings out of the way. This practice clarifies the mind so that your everyday life falls into place a little easier and you gain insight about the larger forces of the cosmos. - Harmonics of the Heart - Appendix
Allow love to flow through you - If you have a moment, try this exercise out. Sit quietly, maybe before you go to sleep, and allow love to flow through you. Open your heart like you were opening a guitar case and know that the instrument of your heart sends out vibration as well as responds to vibration. Without straining at this, hold a gentle sense of peace within yourself and allow your heart to feel into another's heart. You don't have to know the other person. You don't have to know where they are, and they don't even have to be currently alive in order for you to set up the parameter that you hope to feel into another person's heart. And then use the instrument of your heart to send a feeling in response that isn't overly complicated and isn't a bunch of words, but it is a breath of prayer—perhaps a single note or a simple chord that lifts that feeling to a place of greater beauty. - Harmonics of the Heart - Chapter 8
Hear every note in your soul’s song - You need to become adept at hearing every note in your song. The way to practice that is to take a piece of music that you can stand to listen to and hear in your mind how all the instruments in all their notes create the song. That will help you to listen deeply to your own song. What thoughts do you have that were never yours to begin with? You don't have to know where those thoughts came from because you don't necessarily want to trace that thought back to a particular person and then decide that that person is a hollow man, or an evil person, or an evil influence. From our perspective, we do not see anyone on the human plane who hasn't bought into at least one major strand of false identity. - Harmonics of the Heart - Chapter 23
Imagine yourself at home in your soul - If you hold within yourself the question of who or what spirit is, then we have a suggestion for you. Imagine yourself to be in a place and an activity where you feel you belong. Sense in yourself a state of mind and state of emotional vibration that feels exactly as it ought to be. As you feel absolutely at home within yourself in this state, there is an automatic growth and expansion of the soul into spirit, which can take many, many different rhythms or algorithms. You can play some music that puts you in that space, so long as you find music that feels absolutely right in yourself. - Harmonics of the Heart - Chapter 16
